WiFi AirStream IPTV Delivery

Problem:

IPTV providers want to capture local digital television markets using 802.11n technology. They require several central points of Wi-Fi transmission to a large number of subscribers with a minimum of 50 digital channel streaming. The providers require that they stay within the limits of the local power transmission Wi-Fi regulation.

Solution:

SysMaster presents the new revolutionary AirStream technology that allows distribution of 120 digital channels via Wi-Fi 802.11n protocol to unlimited number of subscribers. The technology uses custom developed Wi-Fi 802.11n USB devices and the CellNode M100N AirStream access points.

Centralized Management and Provisioning

CellNode M100N AirStream ensures low operational and management costs via its support for centralized management and provisioning. Utilizing a central server interface, administrators can request a configuration change and/or firmware update which will be automatically propagated to all CellNodes within the provider network, regardless of their geographical location.

Unique Routing Protocol with Policy Filtering

CellNode M100N AirStream features unique routing protocol that supports protected Spanning Tree/STP infrastructure to withstand any type of DoS attacks such as Unwanted Broadcasts, Network Flooding, ARP Poisoning, and Evil Twin attacks. The routing protocol logically isolates the client network layers and provides full roaming support. In addition, CellNode offers improved network security via its built-in policy management features to allow traffic prioritization and shaping. The device includes Firewall, QoS, and Radius software to provide advanced security management mechanisms.

2.4 Ghz Transceiver with Super-G and XRS Technologies

CellNode M100N AirStream features 2.4 GHz (802.11n) transceiver with Super-G and Extended Range (XRS) technologies. The 2.4 GHz wireless band is used by the CellNode to communicate with wireless clients located within its service range. All CellNode Access Points that operate in close proximity are utilizing variable power levels and operate on different channels to reduce possible interference.

Optimized RX/TX Power Management

CellNode M100N AirStream features optimized and centrally managed TX/RX power management for optimal performance and decreased interference with other devices. In addition, in situations when a specific client can not be easily reached, each CellNode M100N AirStream may adjust its power for optimized transmission.

Fault-Tolerant Infrastructure Implementation

CellNode M100N AirStream typically operates in a wireless mesh infrastructure to allow easy substitution of failed devices. If one CellNode becomes temporarily unavailable the traffic can be is transparently redirected to alternative devices. Alternatively, if one ISP uplink or gateway becomes unavailable, the CellNodes will attempt to send the traffic to any other available gateway via the built-in intelligent ARP routing mechanism.
